Friends of the Library Essay Contest
In celebration of the NEA Big Read, the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library are sponsoring an essay contest for students in grades 10 – 12.
In 500 words or less respond to the following:
Into the Beautiful North examines physical and psychological borders. Urrea shows that while physical borders can be crossed, some cultural borders cannot be crossed. What are some of these cultural differences, and how can we bridge them in our community?

The Friends of the Santa Fe Library are excited to announce that Santa Fe will be participating in the NEA Big Read. The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) designed to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. The Santa Fe Public Library is one of 78 not-for-profit organizations to receive a grant to host an NEA Big Read project between September 2019 and June 2020. The NEA presents NEA Big Read in partnership with Arts Midwest.
