Donate your lightly used books and support the Library!
The Friends are happy to accept book donations on behalf of the Santa Fe Public Library!

We raise nearly $100,000 a year by selling your donated books in our stores and at our special sales. We also partner with online book sellers and auction houses to sell rare books, unique titles, and overflow.

Thank you for your donations!
How do you donate your books?
If you have one bag or one box of material to donate, you may bring it to the Main Library’s reference desk, or to the Friends Bookstore in the Southside Library, during Library hours.

For donations larger than one bag/box, please complete our donation form to request an appointment to deliver your donation.
You may also email with questions about donating to books@friendsofthelibrary.org or call us at 505-955-2839.

Books and media items given to the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library are reviewed by library staff for possible addition to the library collection.
Materials not selected for the library collection are reviewed by the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library for possible sale at bookstores or book sales. Proceeds from the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library are used to support Library programs and services.
All donations become property of the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library. No conditions may be placed on donated materials. A receipt for your gift is available from any Library Information Desk; however, receipts for gifts only indicate type and number of items donated, not monetary value.
